One of the many benefits of our Diploma of Nursing program is that in just 18 months, our graduates are qualified as an Enrolled Nurse, ready to start their nursing career. While some students go directly into the workforce, others continue their learning journey by studying to become a Registered Nurse.
Through our unique partnership with the Australian Catholic University (ACU) School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine, Mater Education Diploma of Nursing graduates are given a unique opportunity to apply for direct entry into the ACU Bachelor of Nursing. The Diploma of Nursing provides students with a year of credit towards their further nursing study and we’re thrilled to announce that 11 Mater Education Diploma of Nursing students have been successful in their application for direct entry to Australian Catholic University Bachelor of Nursing Program, commencing in 2021.
This is the second year of the agreement which provides students who wish to continue their studies the opportunity to apply for reserved places, progress from one qualification to another and meet the entry level requirements of a degree while being recognised for prior learning.
Katherine Jackman, Mater Education’s Head of Learning and Development, is a strong advocate for continued learning of Mater Education graduates, whether it be on the wards or at University.
“For many students, the Diploma of Nursing course is their first step in a long and rewarding study journey. By offering this pathway with a top-ranked University, we’re able to present our students with a range of possibilities to further their career.”
“Many students are able to start work in the industry straight away as an Enrolled Nurse, while they complete their degree qualification. This gives them a head start in the market, with practical and theoretical skills.”
“We are so proud of these 11 students and we wish them the best of luck in their new journey ahead.”
