Maternity Emergency Management: Introduction to Crisis Resource Management 

This practical, hands-on interactive  program implements Crisis Resource Management (CRM) principles and human factor skills  throughout skill stations, immersive simulation activities. The concept of reflective practice is supported  through structured  post simulation debriefs. Participants are encouraged to identify how the knowledge and skills covered in the program can be  applied to real world situations.
MEM is an interprofessional program delivered by a team of dynamic, experienced clinical and simulation experts. The program enables the application of clinical and teamwork skills to manage a variety of maternity emergencies, such as:

  • Eclampsia
  • Haemorrhage
  • Shoulder dystocia
  • Breech birth
  • and other birth suite emergencies

Workshop structure

Maternity Emergency Management (MEM) provides attendees with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills required to manage a variety of maternity emergencies, such as:

  • Eclampsia
  • Haemorrhage
  • Shoulder dystocia
  • Breech birth
  • and other birth suite emergencies.

Participants will gain hands on experience with skills stations, immersive simulation and supported structured debriefings to support reflective practice and application to the real-world.

This is an interprofessional program delivered by an interprofessional team of expert clinicians, with expertise in simulation based education.

Learning outcome & accreditation

Upon completion, you will receive a Certificate of Participation.
