Opioid Stewardship: Hospital, General Practice and Beyond

There is a national epidemic of prescription opioid consumption.

This interactive seminar will bring together health professionals with an interest in opioid stewardship to address this challenge and consider a interprofessional strategy for perioperative analgesia and reducing opioid prescribing.

Topics during the seminar will include:

  • Raising awareness of the misuse of opioids in the community

  • Non-pharmacological analgesia strategies

Dr Jennifer Stevens

Dr Jennifer Stevens is a leader in anaesthesia and pain management. In addition to her private anaesthetic practice, she oversees the public and private acute pain services at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney. In 2018 she was awarded NSW Health Collaborative Leader of the Year for her work in connecting health agencies and surgeons to reduce opioid use in regional communities.
