Introduction to Young Adult Health

"Investments in adolescent health and wellbeing bring benefits today, for decades to come, and for the next generation” Lancet Commission

Literature and clinical expertise identify that there is a need to improve knowledge and skills of health care providers caring for young adults. Traditionally education for healthcare professionals has been in paediatric and adult healthcare. There is a recognised gap in education for health professionals in the young adult health cohort.

This workshop offers participants the opportunity to develop skills to engage, assess and respond to the health needs and risks of young people. It will help participants develop youth-friendly services and reduce barriers to young people accessing services.
