Maternity Emergency Management Essentials

Part one: Non-haemorrhagic Obstetric Emergencies

This full-day program provides participants with the theoretical understanding and skills required to manage common non-haemorrhagic obstetric emergencies, including:

  • fetal bradycardia
  • cord prolapse
  • shoulder dystocia
  • unexpected vaginal breech birth
  • severe pre-eclampsia and eclampsia

Participants will work through small group activities, case discussions and practical skills stations, and have the opportunity to apply their new knowledge and skills in a supportive, simulated environment.

This program is held in a realistic clinical environment in our world-class medical simulation facility, and facilitated by our interprofessional educational and simulation experts.

Workshop topics
