The "how-to" guide to implement an in-situ simulation program

In-situ Simulation can be difficult to implement and evaluate. During this hands-on workshop, facilitators who have successfully implemented a sustainable organisational wide In-situ Simulation program, will guide you through the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of an In-situ Simulation program.

This eight-hour workshop will provide opportunities for you to consider your simulation strengths, challenges you currently face in conducting In-situ Simulation activities, discuss possible solutions with faculty who have been there, and explore some strategies to address them back in your organisation.

Who should attend?
The course is relevant to any person who is considering or required to conduct in-situ simulations.
Course structure
  • Learn how to engage key organisational stakeholders, including learners to ensure ‘buy in’ for an in-situ program
  • Outline the design, geographical, technological, human resource and organisational considerations when conducting an insitu program
  • Learn how to create a psychologically safe, in-situ learning environment
  • Learn strategies for in-situ debriefing
  • Review an evaluation strategy for in-situ simulations
This 8 hour workshop will be delivered using simulation, small group activities and provide networking activities.
Accreditation
Participants may be able to self-allocate continuing professional development hours as per the requirements of their professional body.
