René Huysamen

René is inspired by the impact high quality, targeted interprofessional education can have on patient outcomes, staff satisfaction and retention, and organisational performance in healthcare.

As one of Mater Education’s three Interprofessional  Education Managers René is responsible for supporting Education Coordinators and Clinical Facilitators across the Administrative, Food and Supply Services, Medical Chronic Disease, Cardiac, Cancer Care, Ambulatory Outpatients, and Neuroscience streams.

René is a registered nurse with extensive clinical experience in a range of specialties. She has particular experience working in the health and aged care sector, where she performed in both clinical nursing roles and senior management positions.

In her role as Interprofessional Education Manager she collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Mater Education is at the forefront of training and education for professionals working in healthcare.

She enjoys the challenge of translating research into practice to create interprofessional education opportunities that result in valuable professional growth and excellence in healthcare delivery.
