Jody Currie

Professor Jody Currie was appointed to the Mater Misericordiae Ltd Board in December 2024 and is a member of the Mission Integration, People and Culture Committee and of the Patient Safety and Quality Committee.

Professor Currie is the Deputy Chair of TAFE Queensland and a Non-executive Director of Brisbane North Primary Healthcare Network, The Cape York Partnership Group Ltd and Brisbane Indigenous Media Association Ltd. Jody is a member of the Federal Aged Care Transition Taskforce. Prof Currie is a member of the QUT Medical Program Advisory Board and is Assistant Dean, Indigenous Health within the QUT Health Faculty.

She was most recently the CEO of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Health Service (ATSICHS) Brisbane, where she established ATSICHS Brisbane as a nationally registered early childhood education provider, housing provider and National Disability Insurance Scheme provider. Jody was a key proponent in developing and implementing the Birthing in Our Community (BiOC) Program. Prof Currie is a former Non-executive Director of the Sunshine Coast Health and Hospital Service, Opera Queensland Limited and Port of Townsville Limited. She is a former Non-executive Director and former Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Hearing Australia and a former member of the Federal National Aged Care Advisory Council.

Prof Currie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies from Deakin University and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
