VETiS starting with a bang in 2021

News

We have kicked 2021 off with a record-breaking number of Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) students at Mater Education. Over 500 students joined us in January across seven locations, to start or continue their healthcare studies.

Through our VETiS program, we create pathways for high school students to a career in healthcare. Students gain a nationally recognised Certificate II in Health Support Services over two school terms, with the choice of continuing onto our Certificate III in Health Services Assistance via a one-term gap program.

Our VETiS program opens many doors for students. They can earn credit points which count towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), contribute a subject towards Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) for entry to University and open up further career pathways into healthcare, with the option to continue study with Mater Education or University after school.

Our program focuses on providing student with practical, hands-on experience through clinical simulations and face to face learning. All training is supervised by highly qualified Mater Education educators and students are matched with an experienced staff member for the duration of your learning.

We’re delighted to be helping the next generation of healthcare workers gain a kick-start in their career journey.
