Basic Obstetric Skills Stations

BOSS (Basic Obstetric Skills Stations) is a customised Mater Education program developed for junior doctors starting their career in Obstetrics. This intensive course harnesses Mater Education’s expertise in simulation training, giving participants the opportunity to step through a number of common obstetric procedures and get a head start on their skills development.

BOSS provides an opportunity for junior doctors to put theory into practice in a safe ‘simulated’ environment. Practicing the procedural skills during the BOSS workshop aims to increase skill level and help build confidence.

Created by Mater Education in conjunction with the Mater Mothers’ Hospital Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, the course content meets the RANZCOG basic training requirement for attendance at a basic obstetric skills workshop.
