Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS)

Mater Education is proud to offer a Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) program for senior students who are interested in the health industry.

Students will have the opportunity to study on-site in a real hospital environment and gain first-hand experience in an acute hospital setting, working alongside qualified healthcare professionals.

The program is designed to give students the ability to develop an understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, communication and team work, and establish a solid foundation on which to build their healthcare career after Year 12.

The program will deliver a HLT23215 Certificate II in Health Support Services over six months (two school terms), with the option to obtain a HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance via a ten week (one term) gap program.

VETiS qualifications are funded by the Queensland Government’s VET Investment budget.  VETiS funding allows students to undertake nationally recognised vocational education and training (VET) qualifications while they are still at school.  HLT23215 Certificate II in Health Support Services is listed on the Queensland Government’s Priority Skills list for VETiS funded delivery by approved pre-qualified suppliers.
