Inspiring, encouraging and supporting the healthcare heroes of tomorrow

We recognise the incredible commitment and dedication our teachers bring to educating and mentoring the next generation entering the healthcare workforce.

The important work they do every day extends far beyond the classroom, simulation labs and hospital wards. Through their guidance, expertise and unwavering support, they help shape the confident, compassionate healthcare professionals of the future.

Today and every day, we celebrate our passionate teachers and the invaluable contribution they make. They are the heart and soul of Mater Education, inspiring students to learn, grow and make a difference in the lives of others.

As a teacher, you really have the ability to affect and positively change your student’s journey through their learning.

Never underestimate the power and impact you have on each student you teach and use it wisely!

Tara Walton
Education Lead, Diploma of Nursing

I still love teaching as much as the day I started more than 20 years ago. I get the opportunity to share my lived experience with the students I teach.

If they are genuinely passionate about this career, the possibilities are endless.

Shaun Lacey
Senior Vocational Education Teacher

I was drawn to supporting students - they were nervous and worried. I saw myself in them and thought I could help.

It made me feel great too, working together and sharing a sense of achievement.

Claire Cureton
