Vaginal Surgical Skills
The Vaginal Surgical Skills workshop is a customised Mater Education program developed for senior Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainees.
This intensive course harnesses Mater Education’s expertise in simulation training, giving participants the opportunity to perform simulated vaginal surgeries and receive training from experienced vaginal surgeons.
The Vaginal Surgical Skills workshop provides an opportunity for Obstetrics and Gynaecology trainees to put theory into practice in a safe ‘simulated’ environment. Practicing the procedural skills during this workshop aims to increase skill level and help build confidence.
Vaginal surgical procedures covered in this workshop include: vaginal hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, sacrospinous colpopexy, endometrial ablation, endometrial resection, LLETZ, cold knife cone biopsy, and cervical cerclage.
Created by Mater Education in conjunction with the Mater Mothers’ Hospital Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, this course is suitable for Year 3+ RANZCOG trainees.
